Kenneth E. Davison passed away at Mountain Valley Hospice on Tuesday July 20, 2010. He was born in Mayfield, NY on September 8, 1930 to parents Kenneth and Anna (Sanborn) Davison.
He married Emily L. Durand on April 8, 1951, a marriage that lasted 59 years. Mr. Davison was employed for 32 years by the Mayfield Central School District as the head groundskeeper where he also was a bus driver for 32 years retiring in 1987. Kenny also served for 53 years in the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, 5 of which were spent serving as fire chief. He also served 10 years as a first responder in Mayfield.
He spent many years as a 4-H leader and a member of the Mayfield Town Council. Ken joined the Mayfield United Methodist Church at 10 years old and was active ever since, most recently acting as the church’s lay leader.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Emily, sons; Stephen, Michael (Josie), Kevin (Debbie), Patrick (Nancy) Davison and daughters; Connie (Paul) Anderson and Terri (Rich Horton). His sister; Ellen (Richard) Cronin, 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren also survive him.
Relatives and Frineds are invited to attend the funeral service to be held on Saturday July 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Mayfield United Methodist Church, North Main Street, Mayfield. Calling hours will preceed the service on Saturday from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral service in Mayfield Cemetery.
